*Main Purpose of Job:*

A key member of APAC marketing team and the Japan Management Team. This role is responsible for creating and managing delivery of the regional marketing plans and programs for Japan. Working closely with the local sales and management teams to ensure lock-step with local goals and delivery in line with sales targets, this role has direct line responsibility for the relevant marketing staff and budgets. Critical to the job purpose is the creation, agreement and delivery of highly efficient and effective marketing programs that leverage the capabilities, tools and expertise from the central global marketing team and deliver maximum impact and ROI locally for the regional sales teams.

*Direct Leadership:*

Manage the Japan Marketing teams and ensure that marketing plans are developed and executed in close collaboration with the global marketing programs and the local sales leadership

Manage the Japan Marketing budgets to deliver maximum and targeted ROI for the local sales teams

*Key Responsibilities and Duties:*

* Provide Marketing leadership in the Japan team to support the sales organisation to achieve its short, medium and long-term goals

* Manage the local Marketing Teams and budgets to agreed goals including contributing 23% of sales pipeline in 2016

* Establish strong collaborative relationships across matrixed functions – particularly with local sales leadership and management, to develop the right tools and education programs, and co-ordinate the regionalisation of marketing programs in support of local and global priorities

* Design, agree and deliver (through co ordination of global central Marketing and directly with the local Marketing team) the right Marketing programs for the team to deliver to local and global goals incl:

o Digital marketing programs that leverage central capabilities and deliver to local requirements

o Select and implement Account Based Marketing across a list of mid-large opportunities/renewals to support the sales/renewal cycle

o Support the bid process for the largest potential deals. The Marketing team will be an integral part of a team that focuses on the bid support process contributing at every opportunity of the bid support cycle. Performance will be measured against benchmark execution in 2015

o Facilitate the selection of events by working closely with the sales leads and manage the execution and reporting to ensure we maximise the ROI from events

* Ensure all Japan Marketing programs are designed using the right insight and analytics (working with the Customer Insights and Analytics team) to identify opportunity and threat within the region - and that this analysis includes any customisation necessary for the region

* Ensure all Japan Marketing programs are supported with the right, consistent reporting and Marketing metrics and built in an agile environment to facilitate course correction to achieve maximum ROI

* Represent Japan, bringing back requirements and awareness of local region nuances to the global Marketing team

* Work collaboratively with the other regional marketing leads to develop best practice across all Marketing channels

*The successful candidate will have most of the following qualifications:*

- Marketing professional with a minimum of 10 years commercial B2B marketing experience

- Relevant local regional experience and understanding of relevant cultures and Marketing channels

- Strong, tested experience working within a global organization with a track record of managing a marketing team

- Entrepreneurial mindset and a demonstrated ability to be adaptable, flexible, open to diverse ways of thinking

- Highly organised and data driven, ensuring all decisions are informed with the right insight and supported with the relevant reporting

- Ability to foresee, interpret and rapidly respond to market changes by adjusting marketing strategies and realigning priorities accordingly

- An innovative thinker, having the ability to translate new sales requirements into clear marketing plans

- Experience working in a dynamic, fast-paced corporate environment leading global teams

- Strong business acumen with a depth of commercial knowledge

- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and resolve conflict across different functional areas in a highly matrixed organisation, demonstrating skills in influencing, negotiating, and the ability to work in with ambiguity

- Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire others to perform and achieve results

- Executive level interpersonal and problem solving skills with the ability to successfully influence and quickly build credibility to maximize organizational growth and profitability

- Experience managing remote and virtual teams in varied locations and cultures in a matrixed/shared organization

- Ability to communicate effectively and present information in a variety of different formats to employees and managers at all levels and in multiple cultures across the organization

- Good Japanese language skills plus English skills are required

- Preferred education at a degree level –marketing, business or related field
