*Main Purpose of Job:*

The Marketing Manager will be responsible for the deliver of on-time, on-budget regional marketing campaigns that meet targeted business outcomes effectively for the IP & Science business of Thomson Reuters.

Working as part of a global team from Japan this is a highly challenging and interesting role for a resourceful Marketer. This role will be pivotal in supporting the Marketing plans for IP & Science and will require excellent organisational skills to make the most effective use resources available. The duties are of a corporate nature and will involve extensive liaison with stakeholders across the IP & Science business across international time-zones. By taking initiative, engaging and collaborating with the business this position shall require for the role holder to be able to make sure that all issues are appropriately prioritised, and dealt with effectively.

*Key Responsibilities and Duties:*

* Develop and manage implementation of regional marketing plans to drive growth, support retention and build brand equity of Thomson Reuters particular in Government & Academia segment

* Create and clearly articulate the overall solution value proposition

* Build the reputation of Thomson Reuters by engaging with industry experts and thought leaders

* Implement effective integrated marketing campaigns that raise industry awareness and drive global customer acquisition and retention

* Work closely with other marketing stakeholders to ensure messaging is incorporated in Government and Academia vertical

* Form strong relationships with head of sales and solution specialist team to understand their objectives and develop tailored plans of support

* Ensure consistency and quality of messaging and accurate positioning against competitors for all projects and validate messaging and campaigns with target customers

* Demonstrate marketing expertise to provide marketing guidance on business decisions

* Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of our customers and target audience, incorporating key customer messaging and proof points into marketing collateral

* Manage relationships with all internal and external stakeholders. Ensure fast, clear communication of all relevant marketing activities and tools on campaign goals, effective use of marketing materials, and collect regular feedback

* Deliver all marketing activity within the agreed budget and continuously monitor campaign success to ensure maximum MROI

*The successful candidate will have most of the following qualifications:*

• Established career within the marketing industry.

• Experience of business-to-business marketing within the government and academic vertical

• Extensive experience of developing, maintaining and delivering on marketing strategies to meet company objectives.

• Preparation of tactical marketing plans, working to budget and time deadlines and reporting on MROI.

• Strong professional presence and excellent interpersonal skills.

• Strong project management skills.

• Excellent verbal communication, written and proof reading skills in both Japanese and English

• A willingness to travel and work in a global team of professionals.

• 8 years marketing experience within a B2B organization

*Nice to have:*

• Marketing degree preferable

• Experience using CRM and Email Marketing systems desirable but not essential.
