## Managing Director, Japan (Tokyo, Japan)

As a Managing Director, you will provide both strategic and operational direction for the business and will lead the Sales and Distribution function, to achieve both their commercial and financial goals including the creation of additional revenue channels. You will be responsible for creating long term strategic goals, researching markets and proactively identifying and securing opportunities.

**In this role you will

+ Own all aspects of the business in your designated region including sales and marketing, service delivery and operational functions

+ Build world-class, high-performing teams including acquiring, nurturing, developing and retaining top talent

+ Actively manage teams through effective goal setting, regular coaching and feedback, formal performance management processes, etc.

+ Set sales quotas, establish territory plans (i.e., target accounts), rationalize sales compensation plans and actively manage the sales pipeline and forecast

+ Create and implement an effective go-to-market strategy, including direct and indirect/partner sales plans and marketing plans, to aggressively enter the market, generate early wins and capture significant market share over time

+ Refine and localize selling methodologies, sales resources, marketing collateral and messaging to effectively penetrate your local market

+ Collaborate with the global, regional and local marketing functions to design and execute a highly effective marketing plan that will build brand awareness, create competitive differentiation and generate quality leads

+ Define a local pricing schema to ensure that Cornerstone is competitive while maintaining its position as the best solution in the global marketplace

+ Build client success stories, nurture customer relationships, ensure that clients are reference-able, and serve as the executive sponsor for key clients

+ Expand and further penetrate existing client relationships (i.e., upsell) and ensure that clients renew their contracts with Cornerstone (i.e., retain)

+ Differentiate Cornerstone OnDemand across all of the following: our company culture, our innovative solutions, and our focus on client success and service

+ Build a scalable operation by implementing required processes across all functions within the local company structure that are efficient and compliant as required by local and global business practices and laws

+ Establish a formal induction/onboarding and ongoing development program for key functions such as sales and service delivery through an effective partnership with the global functions and associated centres of excellence

+ Identify the most effective ecosystem of partners in your market in order to meet stated sales, service delivery and profitability objectives; Collaborate with the Global Alliances Team to vet, execute a contractual relationship, enable and provide ongoing support to partners

+ Identify, interpret and funnel local market requirements and trends to the product management team to ensure that the Cornerstone solution is meets market-specific functional needs

+ Establish a world-class service delivery capability based upon Cornerstone’s Client Success Framework and ensure that clients have the best possible experience throughout all phases of the client lifecycle

+ Oversee all service delivery projects, manage resource staffing and utilization, determine which projects will be delivered by Cornerstone or outsourced to partners and manage revenue recognition

+ Manage the commercial process for all agreements including clients, partners, vendors/supplies, etc. in accordance with local and global financial processes

+ Maintain strict compliance with Company policies and protocols, including but not limited to Sarbanes-Oxley, Foreign Corruption Policies Act, etc.

+ Seek continuous improvement in all aspects of the organization across people, process and technology

+ Report key metrics to management on a weekly basis as required

+ Be a visible leader in the market

**You’ve got what it takes if you have

+ 10 years as a Senior Director in an organization with a focus on Sales and Marketing execution

+ A proven track record of successful management/sales experience within a technology sector

+ 3 years leading successful technology, HR resources, ITM or HCM sales teams to above-quota performance

+ Successful management experience with direct responsibility for a cross-functional team and a demonstrated track record of delivering top line growth and bottom line performance

+ Experience in managing business partnerships/distributors

+ A track record of exceeding company sales quotas

+ Aggressive, hard-working, persuasive, persistent, self-motivated, and productive

+ Multi-tasking and strong time management skills

+ Excellent written and oral communication skills (in English and native Japanese), including strong formal presentation skills and analytical skills

+ University degree or equivalent

+ Comfort demonstrating software and speaking to technical and non-technical executives alike

+ Experience with CRM tools like and Microsoft Office
